Curtain Accessories
Bespoke Swags and tails
Swags and tails are individual pieces, usually fitted to a pelmet board or draped over a pole. They give the illusion of continuous drapery. A swag is draped over the top of a pelmet or pole to create a more elegant look, the tail is the vertical drop of fabric, which adds length to the window dressing. Tails tend to use a holdback to allow more light in the room. Swags and tails are purely aesthetic elements, which work alongside the practical curtain.
Bespoke Pelmets
A pelmet is the board that sits at the top of your window. As well as being decorative, pelmets hide the curtain rod and fittings and they can also help to regulate heat and light at the top of the window. Pelmets are perfect for any type of window, from traditional and ornate, right through to simple and contemporary.
When choosing your pelmet, you need to decide if it will be padded or unpadded. An unpadded pelmet can be covered with the fabric of your choice. Padded pelmets will need to be covered with fabric in order to hide the padding material (usually foam). Ensure that your pelmet will coordinate not only with your window dressing but also the theme and colour of your room.
Our consultancy service will guide you in finding the right pelmet for your room.
Bespoke Lambrequins
Lambrequins is a valence that comes down on each side of the window and usually has a curvy, sculptural shape to it. Lambrequins are often stand-alone window dressings, so there are no shades or blinds beneath it.
Bespoke Curtains & Blinds, London, supplies tailor made blinds and curtains for homes and offices in Essex, London, Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
